Romsdal rando has been arranged by Romsdal Randonee ski club since 2016. During Covid the race was suspended for 2 years making the 2024 edition the 7th time its held. The first 4 years the race was held in Isfjorden, with a small varaition of where the track was made. The last 3 years the race was moved to Vengedalen, taking advantage of both sides of the valley. In 2024 the race is back in Isfjorden, with a new and spectacular track for the main race.
